Ever since Oso was a puppy he had always been very timid. Well, yeah, I would suppose so, he was new at home and had a 2 yr old baby sitter named Cookie who he didn't know and just barely met. She would always want to play with him but he would just start crying and run to me and cuddle. Cookie would always follow him and would watch every little thing he'd do. If she heard him cry or saw him get up and go somewhere, it was right behind his tail she'd go.
Well, after he was a little stable in walking and started being more adventurous in the backyard, we took him out front and took him on walks with Cookie around the neighborhood. Whenever we came home back from the walk, we would take a brake to drink some water and just sit around and play. Cookie always had like sitting in the bed of the truck and would always do so when we put it down to sit. Oso always wanted to go up there too, so I'd pick him up and put him next to Cookie. When it was time to go in, I would take him down and put him on the floor to follow Cookie back in the house. This kept going on until he was older and big enough to do it for himself. One day, when we came back from the walk and Cookie got up on the truck, he looked at me as if to tell me "Pick me up! I wanna go up too!". He looked all cute, wagging his tail and all, but I couldn't keep doing that forever. So, I just patted the bed of the truck and told him " You can do it". He got confident and brought up his forepaws and just stayed like that. Just to help him, I raised him from behind and helped him up. When it was time to go back in again, he just stood at the edge of the truck and stared at the floor. He'd run around the back of the truck and look down again. Guess he was afraid of heights! ^^; Since it seemed that nothing was ever going to happen, I helped him down.
Now, after so many attempts of going up and coming back down, he finally got it. It was pretty funny seeing him hesitating to get down, but after seeing Cookie do it so much he went on ahead and did it. Sometimes he just sits down and doesn't come down for a while, but it's not because he's scared, or so I think. I guess he's just happy to be able to do something he had been working so hard at for a long while and being able to do it for himself makes him proud.
(Geez, is this too much?! LOL!)
